Al Ahly’s Wessam Abou Ali was on target as Palestine secured a historic 2-1 win against Iraq in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Abou Ali, top scorer of the Egyptian Premier League last season, was not the only Egypt-based player in the squad. Petrojet midfielder Hamed Hamdan played the full 90 minutes, while his club mate Badr Moussa was on the bench alongside Mousa Farawi of Al Mahalla.
