2025 AFCON: Egypt vs. Angola Preview

Egypt face Angola on Monday in their final group stage match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The match will take place at Adrar Stadium in Agadir.  

With top spot in group B already secured, after wins against Zimbabwe and South Africa, Egypt manager Hossam Hassan is expected to rest key players.

Zimbabwe will be aiming for a win

On January 5, Egypt will play the round of 16 match at the same stadium against the best third-placed team from group A, C, or D.

The Pharaohs are taking part in AFCON with a local coach for the first time since 2010, when they won their seventh and last title with the legendary Hassan Shehata.

Possible names to make the starting 11 against Angola: Ahmed Abou El Fotouh (left-back), Ahmed Eid (right-back), Ahmed Ismail (centre-back), and Khaled Sobhi, (Centre-back) Mahmoud Saber (central midfielder), Ibrahim Adel (winger), Osama Faisal (striker/winger).

Mohamed Hany is suspended for the game after receiving a red card, following a second bookable offence during the match against South Africa.
